What Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: (1) through our refund calculator when you voluntarily provide it, and (2) automatically through standard web analytics.

Calculator inputs. When you use our refund calculator and submit your information in Step 2, we collect your first name, last name, email address, country of origin, import value, and date range you entered. We also collect your IP address, browser user agent, and referring URL at the time of submission.

Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics, which collects standard web analytics data including page views, referring sources, and approximate geographic location. This data is anonymized and aggregated. We do not use Google Analytics or other advertising analytics platforms.

How We Use Your Information

To send your estimate. We use your email address to send you the refund estimate you requested through the calculator. This is a transactional email — the one email you opted into when you used the calculator. We send one email per calculator submission.

To route you to our recovery partner. If you click the "Claim My Refund" button on Step 3 of the calculator and engage our recovery partner's services, the information you provided may be shared with that partner to facilitate their service delivery. You initiate this by clicking the button and engaging with the partner — we do not automatically share your data.

To improve our service. We may use aggregated, anonymized data about calculator usage to improve our tools and content.

We do not send marketing emails. We will not add you to a marketing list, send you promotional emails, or sell your email address to third parties.

Data Retention

Calculator submission data is stored in a secure database and retained indefinitely for business record purposes. If you would like your data deleted, email us at updates@em.tariffrefundguides.com with the email address you used and a request for deletion. We will delete your record within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

Resend. We use Resend to send the estimate email. Resend receives your email address and name to deliver the email. Resend's privacy policy is available at resend.com.

Vercel. Our site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes standard web traffic data. Vercel's privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Recovery partner. If you click "Claim My Refund," you are directed to our recovery partner's site. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you by emailing updates@em.tariffrefundguides.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use only technically necessary cookies — for session management and security. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies for remarketing purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
